A noite foi exatamente como a anterior. A Jillian notou que a Jessica estava a hesitar e talvez a esconder algo dela. Ela tentou não prestar muita atenção a isso e tentou agir normalmente.

A Jillian sabe que a cabeça da Jessica fica confusa quando alguém lhe diz ou insinua que ela não é a pessoa que Jessie pensa que ela é.

Elas conheceram-se no 7º ano e começaram a ser amigas. Elas não eram as típicas amigas, mas a verdade é que elas se tornaram melhores amigas muito rapidamente. E terminou tão rápido quanto começou. Embora elas sintam um estranho amor uma pela outra elas são, simplesmente, demasiado diferentes. A Jessica diz sempre: "Os opostos atraem-se." Mas como Jillian afirma: "Eventualmente, os opostos vão sair e se mostrar." E eles fizeram. Elas passaram por muito, mas também superaram tudo. Ninguém esperava, nem mesmo elas, que fosse possível se reunirem e reacender a chama, mas aconteceu. Às vezes, elas sofrem uma grave reviravolta que faz com que se retraem, mas elas são capazes de colocá-lo atrás das costas, mesmo que não consigam esquecer. "É a única maneira para que isto funcione." É um pensamento que segue as duas para todo o lado.

Elas, simplesmente, têm personalidades diferentes. É difícil defini-las.

A Jillian é uma pessoa muito ponderada. Todas as vezes que ela tem uma conversa muito importante, ela é capaz de pensar sobre isso durante horas. Ela dá todas as voltas e reviravoltas possíveis à conversa para encontrar algo que ela não percebeu ou que tenha sido escondido de propósito. Isso vem da experiência, do conhecimento em psicologia e principalmente da sua personalidade.

Pode ser uma qualidade. Ela usa-a no seu trabalho e mostra-se uma vantagem. Mas pode ser uma fraqueza também, porque se ela está no limite da exaustão, – o que acontece muitas vezes. – ela começa a questionar cada coisa. É difícil viver com uma pessoa como ela. Apesar disso, ela é uma pessoa maravilhosa para conviver.

A Jessica apenas aceita o que a Jill é.

A Jessica é, também, uma pessoa incrível para coexistir, mas no primeiro aspecto elas são os opostos. A Jessica não se importa, de todo. Ela não tem qualquer tipo de preocupações, muito menos deste tipo.

No ponto de vista da Jillian é um "defeito horrível". A Jessie não tenta entender as coisas ou as pessoas. Ela acha que, se alguém tem um problema, que deve falar sobre isso e se não o fizer, azar.

A Jillian diz que, na maioria das situações é muito difícil de entender, porque ela simplesmente não diz nada e isso deixa as pessoas frustradas.

Outra diferença são os sonhos. A Jillian sonha quase todas as noites, talvez seja por causa do stress diário e ela lembra-se de quase todos, mas a Jessica é o contrário. Ela nunca sonha e se ela, por milagre, o faz, ela não se lembra do que sonhou.

Elas são ambas lutadoras à sua maneira. As pessoas reagem de forma diferente em situações diferentes. A Jill luta com toda a força que tem e, na sua opinião, tudo o que vale a pena ter, vale a pena lutar, por isso na sua rotina diária, ela faz exatamente isso. A Jessie, no entanto, faz isso de uma maneira muito diferente. A verdade é que, como a maioria das pessoas, ela não sabe o que fazer. Acontece com todos, mas mesmo que não saibamos o que podemos fazer, devemos sempre tentar algo e estas duas raparigas sabem isso como ninguém.

Elas são adultas agora, elas não reagem da mesma maneira que reagiam quando estavam na escola, mas muitos dos medos e dúvidas permanecem no fundo das suas mentes. Eles sabem o que aconteceu, porque aconteceu e o que fizeram para mudar isso. Nem sempre foram as escolhas certas, mas essas escolhas trouxeram-nas para onde estão agora e fizeram o que elas são hoje.

Mas uma coisa é certa. Elas adoram-se mesmo. Elas dizem que a sua história pode fazer um filme: "Algum drama, uma série de discussões, um pouco de romance, muito amor e um final feliz." Bem, fazer um resumo de tudo o que aconteceu daria muito trabalho.

Mas ninguém, especialmente elas, sabe o que está ao virar da esquina…

The night was just like the night before. Jillian noticed Jessica was hesitating and maybe was hidden something from her. She tried not to pay too much attention to that and tried to act normally.

Jillian knows that Jessica’s head gets confused when someone tells her or insinuates that she isn’t the person Jessie thinks she is.

They met each other in the 7^th grade and started to be friends. They weren’t typical friends but the truth is that they become best friends very quickly. And it ended as fast as it started. Although they feel a strange love for each other, they are simply too different. Jessica always says: “Opposites attract each other.” But as Jillian affirms: “Eventually, those opposites will come out and show themselves.” And they did. They passed a lot, but they also pulled through. Nobody expected, not even them, it was possible to reconnect and rekindle the flame but it happened. Sometimes they suffer a severe twist which makes they shrink, yet they are capable of put it behind their back even if they can’t forget. “It’s the only way for this to work.” It is a thought that follow both of them everywhere.

They simply have two different personalities. It’s hard to define them.

Jillian is a very weighted person. Every time she has a really important conversation, she is able to think about it for hours. She gives all the possible twists and turns to the conversation to find something that she didn’t notice or that had been hidden on purpose. That comes from experience, from knowledge in psychology and most especially from her personality.

It can be a quality. She use it in her work and it shows to be an advantage. But it can be a weakness as well, because if she is in the edge of exhaustion, – what happens very often. — she starts to question every single thing. It’s hard to live with a person like her. Despite this, she is an amazing person to be with.

Jessica just accepts the way Jillian is.

Jessica is, as well, an awesome person to coexist, but in the first aspect they’re the opposites. Jessica doesn’t care at all. She hasn’t any kind of worries, far less these kinds of concerns.

In Jillian’s point of view it’s a “terrible bad point”. Jessie doesn’t try to understand things or people. Jessie thinks that if anyone has a problem they should talk about it and if they don’t, hard luck.

Jillian says that in the majority of the situations it’s too hard to understand her because she simply doesn’t say anything and it makes people frustrated.

Another difference is dreams. Jillian dreams almost every night, maybe that’s because of her daily stress and she remembers almost every single one, but Jessica is the contraire. She never dreams and if she, by miracle, does, she doesn’t remind what she dreamt about.

They are both fighters in their own ways. People react differently on different situations. Jillian fights with every strength she has and in her opinion everything that’s worth having, worth fighting for, so in her daily routine she does exactly that. Jessica, however, does it in a very different way. The truth is, like most of the people, she doesn’t know what to do. It happens to everyone but even if we don’t know what we can do, we should always try something and these two girls know it like no one else does.

They are adults now, they don’t react the same way they did when they were in school, but a lot of the fears and doubts remain deep in their minds. They know what happened, why it happened and what they did to change it. Not always were the right choices but these choices brought them to where they are now and made them who they are today.

But one thing is for sure. They really love each other. They say their story can make a movie: “Some drama, a lot of discussions, some romance, a lot of love and a happy ending.” Well, make a summer of everything that happened would take a lot of work.

But no one, especially them, knows what is behind the corner…
