NATURE -- What Is Personality?!

What Is Personality?!

If I asked all of you what is personality, you probably would answer,"It's the way we are, the way we react to happenings and the way we relate to others."
Well, if you answered this, I would say that is exactly what I would answer.
After some research, I found out that our personality is a set of psychological characteristics that determine the patterns of thinking, feeling and acting. In other words, the personal and social individuality of someone.
This is, more or less, the definition that Carver and Scheier present to us. This one points that personality:
  • is an organization and not a cluster of loose parts;
  • is dynamic and not static, unchanging;
  • is a psychological concept, but closely related to the body and its processes;
  • is an active force that helps determine a person's relationship with the world around;
  • shows in patterns, that is, through recurrent features and consistent;
  • expresses itself in different ways - behavior, thinking and emotions.
This is the scientific approach. My aproach is similar, but yet, different.
For me, my personality is who I am. I see it like one if the most beautiful things that the human nature brought to us.
We kind of used to say that "opposites attract". I kind of have to agree but many think its a myth.
Throughout my life, yet very short, I've faced with a lot of different persons and a lot of different personalities. I didn't give along well with every single of those persons (I have a hard personality), but with others it was just amazing. But none of them was like me.
Like Dr. Phil once said "Opposites attract. But can they last?" I think that depends. Depends on the persons and depends on their will to make it work.
Enneagram is a model of human personality. It presents 9 types of personality. I did the test and it was super interesting. (THE LINK IS BELOW)
